Age of Mythology was a lot of fun, I have to say that honestly as far as gameplay and depth etc, Age of Empires II > Age of Mythology, however I enjoy playing Mythology much more because the older ones just haven't aged well for me at all.
Warcraft didn't hold me because of the focus on heros with elements supporting them rather than large armies.
On that note I have been playing Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms - Crusades. It's fun fighting to protect the holy land however the landscape is so bland, just deserts, palms and rocks. To be expected of course.
Oh and I am really enjoying Transformers: War for cybertron. Great game.
