Actually not sure if this is sarcasm.
The way I see it is, good gore can enhance a game like this, but it doesn't make it. Maybe I'm being too harsh based of what I've seen and heard, but I have low expectations.
I have good second hand reports that the multiplayer is trash though, from the extensively leaked alpha.

The execution of the violence reminds of GTA, in that if you rely a bit too much on the visceral melee stuff you'll get overwhelmed pretty quickly. What really excites me about the violence is stress relief. Mindless sandbox games are great for whittling down stress from a crummy day, but the kind of in-your-face action featured in the DOOM campaign seems right up my alley for exhausting aggression, but obviously that's not what everyone wants from the game.
The multiplayer looks identical to the Doom 3 multiplayer from what I've seen, maybe a bit faster. I suppose doubling down and curbstomping the enemy MVP will be pretty cathartic, but not if I can't rocket jump as well.
What I'm REALLY worried about, now that I think about it, is what happened with the new Star Wars Battlefront. The only people I see playing when I occasionally load it up have a star wars related name, because the game is actually pretty dull and frustrating more than it is fun. I'm hoping they actually have the game halfway completed, is what I'm saying.
