Do you walk or bicycle everywhere? Do you realize how many people heat their houses with oil? How do you think most of your groceries got to the grocery store? Do you realize that the majority of electricity is generated from oil? Do you think oil companies are the only problem facing the environment? I'm not saying that oil companies always behave the way they ought to or that we shouldn't develop cleaner sources of energy, but you better think twice before you just get rid of them all.

Why is it that a problem has to be "the worst" problem in order for it to get any attention? I think that the extinction of a species is plenty bad enough to get some attention along with the other problems in this world. It's a sad day when we can just blithely go "oh, well" when a particular animal or plant species faces the distinct possibility that it will never again see the light of day.

morphius, try not to overtake Danny with your post count all in your first day -- he wouldn't be happy.
