Yeah Reddit can be shit. But it's mostly dependant on what subreddit you're on.

Even when the community is nice i still feel the website ruins any sort of meaningful discourse. Dissenting thoughts are suppressed and the top of the comment section is inevitably filled with one line jokes, stale memes, and other assorted low quality shit posting that appeals to the lowest common denominator.
