Bizzare puzzle solutions are a standard in old school p'n'c games.
In Monkey Island 2 you can use a monkey as a wrench.

I know, but some of the ones in Teenaget are especially bad for that style. It's no Gabriel Knight 3, but it gets fairly tedious trial and erroring your way through the second half of the game. At least the solutions in Monkey Island are satisfying or funny, like the monkey-wrench thing.

As far as point and click games go it's quite small, but it's a lot of fun and you can't go past it for free.
