Another thing, I've been hearing things about public schools pushing religion and politics onto the children... That's annoying too...
I also remember a teacher who would always ramble about how evil Christopher Columbus was... She was really insane... She would always drop subliminal things into conversations about what a horrible person he was... She even taught her students what fiend he was... It was just weird.

Yes, but I think the point was that you can study and study for the exam, get the knowledge and get a good grade, but then you can forget all about the things you've learned. Like me for example...  I don't remember almost anything about the courses I had last year, though I got good grades form them. If I'd have to do the same tests now, I'd probably flunk most of them... So, I've got the grades, but not the knowledge.
