Aha, no - we do know something more:
We know that Squeek's Oddysee gives us our first real insight into the symbiotic lifeforms on Oddworld. For that reason, it would be logical to theorise that Squeek is in a symbiotic relationship with another creature.
But who knows? This is Oddworld. Expect the unexpected. Like having a lot of the game's features removed.
