Ok, I found a way to make it ONE HUNDRED PERCENT consistent.
To stop the sligs from skidding just mash the fire button, and they stop what theyre doing to fire.
So happy. Now I can run Alfs escape without fear of my major reset point. After the grenade room its pretty much consistent until after this point now.
