Im not saying the creator should do anything. Its their game. Who am I to tell them how to make their game. Who has the succesful video game? Not me. But if I was in that position Id do it differently. And hey, with luck I might be. Just finished a game design course. And I never mentioned selling their game for free. Its just that If a profit came in that fast, Id think of making the original game better, rather than making a second game thats pretty much the same thing but more. Ill hold my judgement of the game until it comes out, this discussion is not about the game, but the developer practices. In my perspective, I dont like it.
