That's just it, all of those Nintendo games whose name I recognize look really good and the latest Smash Bros. game really impressed me, apart from the shitbox netcode.
I'm at a point where everything Sony or Microsoft churns out comes across as cynical or derivative. Sunset Overdrive seems to be 'Huh he ho woah there duderino! Looks like you're not used to pretty games, wooooah I'm so wacky! Anarchy in the UK WEEEEEEEE!' Like typing that right there literally made me vomit blood.
There's some kind of hubbub about this turd circus called Lords of The Fallen which seems to be chunks of Warcraft, Dark Souls and Darksiders superglued together by a bunch of fat polish guys. I watched a Livestream of the developers playing it and all they talked about was 'the amazing graphics' and the crafting system that only the mightiest of pantshitting spergs would even scrutinize. Ignoring the fact that the game was horribly dark and drab like a cobblestone diarrhea, it just looked boring. As. Shit. And it will sell millions.
Oh, and then there's this shit.
Note that there's not an inkling of self awareness or intentional humor in that trailer, if you care to watch it. I have no doubt in my mind that the people who made this got together, made a list of things they thought were extra cool, drew a picture of the protagonist and then avoided each others gaze as flashbacks of being stuffed into lockers crossed their minds simultaneously.
Then I checked out what's hot on the Wii U. All of it is vibrant, tons of color, no cynicism and a lot of titles seem to be designed for local multiplayer (remember that?). So yeah, I'mma getta Wii U. Seeing what people are hyped up for on PS4 and Xbone was just depressing.
