You’re maybe one of like two people I’ve seen who list the first game as their favorite. Personally I prefer the third – not so much because of the characters themselves, but because there feels like there’s more personality and humor in the game. #2 is probably the best from a pure gameplay perspective though.

I have a lot of Nostalgia for Spyro 1 - It's one of the first games I remember playing (at my Grandmother's friend's Apartment) I also tried Tomb Raider but the wolves freaked my adorable 8 year old self
out. The third game feels much bigger, and I think the story was better than average for your typical kids game. Come to think of it, the only character I didn't really like was the penguin, I thought his levels were tedious. The yeti/Monkey with a laser gun levels were great though.
I'm playing The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, except not 3D because that's a waste of money. The farthest I've progressed in Ocarina before this point was getting to Goron City and then losing interest. I can appreciate why this game is so lauded, I was sure it was just a collective nostalgia but it's just so
good. It strikes me as a well thought out, meticulously designed game. I'm at the dreaded water temple now.
Does anyone here own a Wii U? I've been thinking about getting one. A year ago I'd have scoffed at the idea but considering the big holiday seller for Xbone seems to be Sunset 'literally sonic the hedgehog with guns' Overdrive and Bloodborne won't be out for another four months on PS4, I think now's a good time to invest in a Wii U. So sell me whydon'tyou.
