Alright well I'll give you warning now: Awesomenauts, while not a lie, it is an awesome game, feels incredibly different than any other moba I've played, so don't expect smite or DoTA 2 to feel quite the same.

I hardly expect it to feel the same as a 2D platformer. But the strategy and teamplay is unlike anything Ive played before. And Ive watched probably a hundred hours of Dota, so It wont be a blind jump.
And GoME (Guardians of Midle Earth) was a top down moba like LOL, and that apparently worked fine on consoles. I never played it. I was one of the few who stuck with nauts on PS3 while everyone moved on to GoME, at least until the PS4 version dropped.
