If I'm allowed two RPGs, STM is allowed two RTSs.

I'd say Dawn of War definitely serves as a good example of games' ability to make you feel in control. Units move and fight with real weight, need your direction to survive, and only use their best abilities at your command.

Not sure what's so great about Age of Empires, though. I always thought its appeal was mainly nostalgic.
