Order doesn't mean anything here, I'm just putting down my four games in a random order:

1. Persona 3

While I haven't played 4, I have played 3 and am close to beating it again. I have a really bad habit of getting into a jrpg and getting like halfway through then leaving it because the plot/world/characters couldn't hold my patience. P3 though held me the whole way through, the world is okay, good, but not great, the story is good, but rather predictable, but the characters are fantastic. And I mean fantastic. These characters are super amazing and seeing each of their personalities interact with each other made the whole game for me.

2. Mega Man 2

Everyone needs to at least try playing a game where you have to master it to beat it, and the mega man series I think is the best example of this. Beating your first stage after everything fucks you over is such a great feeling. I chose number 2 because I like it more than others.

3. TES

Any of The Elder Scrolls games will do, though I'd have to suggest starting at 3 or on, as the earlier engines are not easy to get in to. I'm not going to say what I think is best since I don't want to talk too much about it outside of the elder scrolls thread. The reason I think everyone needs to play one of these is to experience a truly epic adventure. A lot of games feel like a cool adventure, but the elder scrolls had always been so immersive the epic quest didn't feel like I was seeing it, it felt like I was creating it.
Be advised: bring pest repellent as there are a lot of bugs.

4. Simcity 2000-4

Everyone needs to try a sandbox/tycoon type game, and simcity might be my favorite, but 1 isn't nearly as fun and the graphics may put off some, and 5... I don't need to explain why we don't touch number 5. 2000 is a lot of fun, but again the graphics I could see as being off putting, and 3000 and 4 are pretty much equal in my eyes regarding the fun factor.
