A fair few as a kid, plus some First Doctor as an adult, yes.
That said, the point that I was failing to express was not that Capaldi has to fit to a certain type, but that a new actor has to make the role his own and redefine what it means to be The Doctor. And that point hasn't hit home for me yet.
