I started playing an old FPS called Blood II. I normally have a rule against not playing the first in a series first, but the first game used the old old 3D style where the world was in 3D, but all entities are sprites, and I just wasn't in the mood for that when I was game shopping at the time. Unfortunately it's one of those nostalgia-bad games, where just about every review out there says it's an awful awful game because the first game was just sooooo much better. While I haven't played the first blood game I can say that I am quite enjoying Blood II, it was giving me the exact type of fun I was looking for, lots of killing, a couple minor puzzles here and there, and haven't had any searching for a keycard for hours things.
