I can understand why they didn't includes subtitles ingame. The screen would be too busy, especially if several Muds or Sligs talk at the same time.
They had the same problems with the Clakkerz in SW.
But I would like to read them, as I understand english better when I read it. (plus, the Oddworld's characters have special accents, so it's not easy to understand for everyone.)
