The only reason I used "slurg" is because to our knowledge slugs don't exist in Oddworld. The closest things are slurgs. Sligs described as
ancestors of slug-like creatures, not descendants. There's also a big difference between what inspires their name and what they're truly descendant from. Their name come from Pig and Slug, so by your logic, they could easily be equally related to pigs.
