You've missed the point, here. Consoles go out of date, but it's parts of PCs that go out of date, and those parts can be replaced or upgraded.
I choose PCs, simply because I don't really play games, except for tacky arcade games like Tetris and Arkanoid... If I had a console, it would almost never get used...
