I love the idea of Molluck as one of the protagonists, but I assumed from one of Lorne's interviews, Lady Margaret forces him to go face the investors in her stead because it's his fault. The last we see of him, in this instance, would be Molluck riding the elevator into the depth of Nolybab. What happens to him thereafter, we dare not find out.
I'd still root for him as a protagonist. Perhaps the Glukkon economy crashes to an irrevocable point, forcing their entire society into exile. Thus, they must join the fight against the industrialists. Perhaps not Molluck, but I could definitely see a Glukkon there.

To be fair I recall seeing Lorne mention Molluck's future fate in interviews quite a lot, so I'm guessing it's something that will have further bearing on the quintology's course. Didn't one of the glukkons in AE mention Molluck at one point as well?
