If some JAW guy happens to notice this thread; will the Steam version have those Steam trading cards? I'd love to make myself a sweet Oddworld badge to showcase on my profile.

I really hope it has full Steamworks support, including trading cards, achievements and leaderboards. Especially the trading cards tend to be a nice little side income for the game when they're sold and bought through the market.
