Makes you wonder why they put in place such a ridicoulous regions system if it's so easy to bypass.

It's probably to do with distribution rights and licensing, Sony likely make it easy to bypass because whether or not people bypass the system hardly affects them, buying a game on the US or UK PSN store still generates them revenue.
