Firstly; if you want to start a project with other people's money, you should be going to every length to justify it. If you're not prepared to spend thirty bucks on a webcam and mic, it's not a great sign of your commitment.

Secondly; You might get more volunteers for your project if you actually told us what it is.

Thirdly; If you don't have enough faith in your project to explain it to people... well, see point one.
