So today I read an article on BBC news talking about the copyrights being revoked on The Redskins by the US Patent Bureau. In the comments I saw people saying about how this was PC nonsense and all that. So I thought, hey I'll come out in support of sanity.
Basically I equated having a team named Redskins to openly calling black people niggers, and that both were bad things. Any way the comment was promptly removed by one of the website moderators, presumably because I didn't write n*gger or something. Obviously the idea behind my comment couldn't have flown higher over their head.
That also brings up a point, why is writing n*gger fine but nigger is offensive? The connotations of the word are terrible regardless of whether or not you stick a fucking asterisk in there.
