But it's not going to get as much traction with a general audience. Advertising "New 'n' Tasty" again in a couple of years isn't going to turn as many heads. More like "didn't that come out years ago?" I imagine a lot of people won't pay as much attention to it than if it was a new title.
I mean in the press it's been "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty". Abe's Oddysee isn't nearly as ubiquitous. But New 'n' Tasty has always been presented as the name of the game - whilst Oddworld is the brand.
It's much better for marketing purposes if the AE title was brand new. You need a title that's distinctly different in order to get the point across that this is a new game, worth your attention and eventually your cash.
EDIT: The only way I can see the reusing of New 'n' Tasty working from a marketing standpoint is if the game is advertised as New 'n' Tasty 2.
Trying to advertise and market the difference between New 'n' Tasty - Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and New 'n' Tasty - Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus is a bit much.
