Judging from the latest screenshots, that isn't the case, looking at the free fire zone screenshot, it looks like there's a patch of smoke riding from the ground, obviously to be used for Abe to hide from the slig, but I assume the smoke is made from a fire and is therefore not steam.

Maybe, I thought that initially but I couldn't really see a difference with Steam Zones in RuptureFarms. But, tbh, I'm only basing that off one screenshot. It could be a bit more clear in the actual game.
