There's that stuff with erm, is it 'Maskey' though? and that just made it unbelievable for me. Slenderman on his own was a cool concept, didn't need to be added to a whole lot I don't think. All the spin-off stuff by unaffiliated people did help to kill Slenderman for me though.

I think you’re honestly the first person I’ve seen take issue with Masky. Kinda seems strange to me that you’d find a crazy dude in a mask unbelievable when the primary antagonist is a 7-8 foot faceless monstrosity.
I still remember the first time I watched the video where Masky first appears, and I remember it gave me a really “oh shit what the fuuuck” moment. If I remember rightly, the creators first came up with the character because they felt they needed an antagonist who was more immediately physically threatening, and I think that was a pretty good decision for them at that point.
