I generally prefer Exoddus for having better gameplay (and more of it!). But I acknowledge that AO has better atmosphere and more interesting production design.
Agreed. Much more varied puzzles/gameplay in Exoddus, and the environments are nicely designed, but Oddysee feels more down to earth, and Abe seems more vulnerable and isolated, and like he alone has the fate of everyone else resting on his shoulders. He doesn't have any real powers until he earns shrykul, so compared to Exoddus in Oddysee he is for the most part human-like and powerless. There's rarely a time in Exoddus where he doesn't have access to some kind of advantageous force (minecart, exploding farts, invisibility, rings of power, possession of flying sligs) which all together make the quest seem less noble, and more like just a chore.
