Part 2

The water parted and a black figure hurled itself out onto the beach. Not exactly as graceful as it would have liked, it dragged itself up onto the beach. Its black claws digging into the sandy ground. The creature pulled itself out of the water, its wet, black body collecting sand as it did. Panting, its yellow eyes glowing tiredly. The feathers of its wings were mostly intact, and it tried to keep them like that as it retracted them. Finally it managed to summon the strength to push itself up out of the last bit of water lapping its legs. Two Mudokon children who were playing on the beach had seen it wash up on the beach. Intrigued they had ventured closer.

Child #1: "Hey, ummm...you ok?"

The creature stared at them. It could understand them but it was weak and needed food. Finally it uttered some kind of words, which weren't actually words, more like clicks and grunts. One of the children who was easily scared told his friend he was going to tell his mum and immediatly ran towards the cliff-face were a small shack was situated.

Child: "You know...you should go, Mrs Diley doesn't like new specie that much. 'Specially when they scare Timothy."

The child was mesmorised by this new creature. It hadn't seen anything like it. Its eyes had no pupils and shone magnificantly. Its skin was jet black (Think ViVi out of FF9). The arms of it were spindly and ended with hands that had 4 fingers and thumb, each razor sharp at the end. Its shoulders were lined with black feathers (Think Maz Manson in the 'Rock is Dead' vid). And on its back were its wings. Glorious black, sleek wings. The feathers reflecting the light as the darkness of the clouds seemed to run away.

Child: "What are you?"

The creature seemed to smile. Its lip-less mouth stretched, and a red tongue darted out, pointed at the end. The child backed away cautiously as the character proped itself up by its arms and rested like that looking at him. The little boy was ready to run and was already moving backwards slowly but its newly found person beckoned him with one claw to come closer.

Child: "W-why?"

It did not speak, but beckon him again. Its yellow glowing eyes dimming and a sharp coughing like sound escaping its mouth. The little boy weighed up what the worse that could happen to him was, the man/woman/thing was practicly dying. It looked weak, and any way...there was stones and rocks to hit him/her/it with if it attacked. The child noted all of the possibilities and realised he could escape if anything happened. He took a step forward, its foot manuvouring around some sharp stones that laiden the beach. After nudging a couple of more rocks out of the way he finally managed to stand squarely in front of the creature.

Child: "Well?"

A short hiss escaped the weakened animal and its claw shot up, stopping inches before the childs face a red ball of electricity formed on the palm of the attacker and two string like bolts shot into the childs eyes. The Mudokon's body convulsed and shook, and then finally it dropped down. The childs eyes burnt clean out of its sockets. A couple of seconds later the creature shook violently, green energy coursing around its body, and then halting. A small snort came from it as it stood up, its black slender body, covered with specs of sand. Cracking its neck it turned and picked up a piece of old brown cloth that lay on the beach, it looked like part of a curtain. It flung it around its neck, quite like you would a scarf and draped it down its back, hiding its retracted wings. Tying it in a knot at the front of its neck it proceeded towards the cliff...towards the Diley residence.
