I don't usually get thoughtful stuff at Christmas because I'm the hardest person ever to buy gifts for, but my aunt and uncle showed everyone else up this year and got me The Day of the Doctor on DVD. I don't even think they watch Doctor Who any more, but they still thought of me not being in the country to see it.

It's weird because I kept meaning to download it since I got back from Europe on the 13th, but I just didn't get around to it.

I also got some clothes from my parents, but most of them didn't fit. I felt really bad having to take 3/5 things back. It's far from the first year it's happened, so I don't think they mind too much. I ended up exchanging the two shirts for totally different ones, because they were low on stock after boxing day sales. I now own a salmon shirt with black spots.

We had my brother and his family over for lunch for their first Christmas in Australia since they moved back from England. My 5 year old nephew Galen was very excited, and I basically spent the entire time looking after him. It was exhausting. We ran around outside (I jogged), we built some of his new toys and we just sat and talked. I can't believe how good he is at telling stories for 5. My bro said that they asked him what his favourite thing about Christmas was, and he said "building the Hotwheels with uncle Tom." They asked what his second favourite thing was, and he said "building the Lego with uncle Tom!" Cool uncle status: acquired.
