I'm pretty sure that if you want to be mummified the honey has to be on the outside.
Legend says that Herod had his wife killed, mummified in honey, then shagged her repeatedly. It might be true - he was fucking nuts - but there are a hell of a lot of made up stories about him (the New Testament, for instance). Also, I've been to where his family were buried. And where he was buried, although that was in a seperate location.
