Well, solid composition, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Yours is much better if only because to the addition of actual black.
The overall design in general is pretty piss-poor, going back to something I said earlier, which I'm assuming you skipped over.

I get that it's 'New 'n' Tasty' (which frankly should have been the subtitle instead of Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, what were they thinking?) but we don't need the entire fucking logo theme based around that idea of a 'brand', it's gimmicky and doesn't convey the atmosphere of the game at all, you wouldn't even know it was for the same game. It's like they're destroying the image of the game for the sake of some stupid advertising gimmick.

I'd say it "doesn't feel like an Oddworld logo" but then you'd probably be on my back with "what does Oddworld feel like". Not like that, for sure.
