You can't say 'strong female characters' without first defining what you mean by 'strong'. Physically strong? Being a badass strong? Progressing as a character through an arc and overcoming fears strong?
Being a strong character and also being female. If at all possible, being a strong character in a way which is complimented by her sex/gender.

Maybe I should say well written. Certainly not strong in the physical sense. Red She Hulk is strong in the physical sense, but she's about as poor a character as they come.

And yeah, I was thinking of The Boss.
