"Make way! Let us through, please! This is urgent!" Selten led the stretcher through the crowds that seemed to congregate around the bleeding Mayor. "The Mayor is seriously wounded! Can you get out of the way, PLEASE?!"

The crowds slowed their progress, but they still made it to Olm's house before too long. The guards had managed to stauch the blood flow, but Selten was worried about internal damage. The stomach wound was fairly severe, and looked like it could be fatal.

Something was wrong. The guards weren't at their posts outside. Looking around, Selten saw them lying unconcious. He shook his head, and didn't worry too much about it. He had the mayor to take care of. Motioning the guards to follow him, he pushed the door open and hurried inside.

"Olm? Come here, we need you!"

There was no reply. He began frantically running through the house, looking for the absent doctor. Shit, he must be down in his cellar, he thought, biting his lip, I knew we should have made him give us a key to down there... Glancing at the reinforced steel door in frustration, he noticed that the door was slightly ajar. Claming himself, he tentatively pushed open the door, and began to walk down the stairs. At the bottom, he looked around the room. It was a mess. A shelf had been pulled down, and medical gear littered the floor. There were traces of blood in several places, and signs of a struggle, but nobody was there. Selten almost howled. He ran back up the stairs.

"Get the Mayor to another doctor! Olm's escaped!"

Hearing the guards bustling the stretcher through the door, Selten frowned, and decided to look around this cellar. He'd never been down here, and it looked like something had happened here. He wondered if Olm had escaped voluntarily after all...

Looking around, Selten noticed a faint trail of blood leading through a side-door in the cellar. Glancing back, he saw that the other guards had gone, and looked around for something to use as a weapon. His eyes fell on a silvery object that was unmistakely a gun. He wondered how he'd missed it before. Lifting it, he found that it was heavier than he'd expected, but he was able to hold it in one hand. Turning, he turned his attention back to the door. Walking towards it, he tentatively pushed it open, hopping to one side as it swung back. The room beyond was an empty store room, but the door at the other side was open, revealing a roughly-cut tunnel. Another exit... he thought, and pocketed the gun, following the tunnel...
