Long gone are the days of traditional cameras that used film (see San Andreas)... Why is it necessary to have server access for taking pictures though? Do your pictures automatically get uploaded to cloud or something?

Yeah, you can buy stocks and even influence them. Say you buy stocks in a major airline. Go to the airport and start blowing up airplanes from the competing airline and your stocks go skyhigh.
And yeah, pictures get saved to the cloud.
