started watching Dexter again. i gave up a while back half way through series 3 because i just got bored. anyway i rewatched it and got hooked again, although the climax with his new killing buddy i could see a mile off (can't remember his name or spell it for that matter, some mexican geezer who holds a lot of influence). it annoyed me that he killed him not just because it was unbelievably predictable, but because i think the only unpredictable thing they could have done would be to not kill him and instead have them work together again.
there's tons of potential shit in that. drama, fuck up's, a look at how Dexters friend changes over time. instead they kill him off quick before the season ends and yeah, you get all the drama and fuck up's etc, but at an accelerated rate so it's all just thrown at you again which is kind of a cop out. there's more oppurtunity to be had going the other way, not everything comes down to "i need to kill you so you don't kill/out me". they could've killed him off in the end but jesus use what you've got, man. its called fucking character development.
i also heard a fucking great line that had me laughing. there's a scene where a forensics expert totally disproves some big cops theory on who the murderer is, finishing with "that's science, and science is one cold-hearted bitch with a 14 inch strap on". ahar!
