There's a very simple trick to making a lot of money very efficiently via fishing.
Go to the beach, comb it for a shark fin. If you don't see one, pause and save and continue. That will reset the fish spawns and greatly increase the chance of a new shark spawning.
You can sell normal sharks for 15K bells, and the other kinds for about 8K.
