Do you know who was playing it (I suppose I could look it up myself)?
They played it at the BBC Proms last year or the year before that (or maybe even the year before that - I don't know, I'm senile), and I enjoyed it, but I have a recording of it conducted by Stravinsky, and I've yet to hear a version I like more. There are better recorded versions, but I like the nuances in this version. Sometimes it feels like the orchestra's a player piano, and Stravinsky's pedalling it.
Incidentally, they're playing some Zappa at the proms this year (
The Adventures of Greggery Peccary). If I could afford to go down to London to see it, I would.
