I feel like Sony hasn’t won me over, but so far their announcement has stood up far better than Microsoft’s. It focused heavily on games and they went to a lot of effort to show gameplay footage and invite lots of developers to the stage to talk about their games. Compare how Microsoft’s first guest was an EA rep, and the other two were a Microsoft Studios rep and a guy who makes Call of Duty.
From what we know, PS4 and Xbox One are on par in most ways – set for release later this year, similar specs and architecture, similar sharing features etc. But Sony has put games and their developers front and center in their pitch, and Microsoft pushed sports and TV. That says an awful lot, I think.
