Spontaneous jazz is amazing. A jazz quartet I'm in was warming up for a gig once and the drummer started mucking around with a beat. The bass player just decided to join in, then the keyboard player, then I ripped out a sax solo over the top. That happened two more times.
I actually have lots about spontaneous ensembles. Musically it's always interesting because everyone involved has to listen, and it takes energetic, enthusiastic people to even attempt it.
I wish public transport in Adelaide was awesome like that.
