Completed
Impossible Creatures.
Mid-final mission I was getting pounded by Archer Hippo artillery, so I went for Julius's poorly-defended water chambers with my Losbtephants, and stationed one on every beach to take out the Henchmen who came running to build new ones. This stopped him from building all his amphibious units. His only other artillery units were Girafanzees, which had lower health and defense, so taking them out wasn't much of a problem for my Whalemeleons.
After that I started occupying his coalfields, rapidly starving him of resources. He ploughed all of his remaining coal into Henchmen, presumably trying to find undisputed resources, but they were swiftly cut down. Twenty minutes of seige later, I marched my triumphant monsters into his base, where they were met with all four of Julius's remaining creatures. He couldn't afford to produce new ones. Hooray for strategy!
Team:
Yes, there's only eight (of a possible nine). I liked to have a free slot so I could cobble together new monstrosities on the fly - usually a cheaper or lower-level version of an existing creature for when resources were scarce.
Favourite creature:
I do like Lobsters, but it has to be Henchmen. They proved surprisingly capable over the course of the campaign, often defending my base alone when my beasts were out predating. Here's a picture of them beating up a porpoise.
