Yeah, they lost a tonne of money due to how expensive the PS3 was to make. They made it back shortly afterwards, though.

They have never made it back, the PS3 lost more money than the PS1 and PS2 created combined.
JAW confirmed that the new games they are working on are multiplatform, so don't worry there.
