To put your avatar up you have to go into your user cp and into (i think its profile) and choose change avatar. Then go down to "upload your own avatar" and search through your computer looking for the avatar. Then make SURE that the 'yes' button is still checked then click the button (i thinks its okay button).
Um, you've just had a banner made by Abe Babe just a while ago i think it would be disrespectful and inappropriate right as this short time span for you to change your banner.
