Bands like these are part of the reason why I didn't consider myself a metal fan since I was seventeen. At least not until a few weeks ago when I remembered there is still tons of good metal, under all the shit.

I'm imaging the embarrassed look on your face when you realize
what I actually meant was the elitism within the metal fandom.
Incidently, I still like a couple of those bands. Blind Guardian and Green Carnation in particular are amazing, so go fuck yourself and take your trying-too-hard metal with you.
