I'm with BM. The average young, Western person, male or female, doesn't really worry about these things. Not actively trying to move women up in the world, but not resisting it either. If there's no-one deliberately trying to keep women "in their place", then over time things will become neutral. Misogyny will just become an immaterial myth held only by inbred morons and the extremely backward. See: Racism. We're not there yet, but we're getting there.

"Feminism" as an organised political movement is only really necessary in countries where there's an organised misogynist political movement to counter. So in the Arab world, there's certainly a need for rousing, vocal, feminists. Here, you'll just look like you're making a disproportionate amount of fuss over the issue concerned.
