[Phylum]

I snagged over $80 of gift cards and an additional $30 in solid cash from my family. There was some other thoughtful stuff in there, too. Nothing felt too generic or rushed, which felt awful because of the lack of thought that went into our gifts to everyone. I'm ok with my mum spending next to no money, but most of the things we gave out just had no soul in them.

I did have lots of fun at lunch with my mum's side of the family. No offense to my dad's relatives, but they're just not as relaxed and funny.

We finished the day with a Skype call to my brother's family in England. My nephew has now started school and is as cute as ever. He was showing us his Power Ranger toys, his huge box of Lego, his new train set pieces and his new dinosaur DVDs. It's really nice being able to be part of his life from so far away. Hopefully they'll be able to move out here soon.

Now I'm just relaxing with a cup of tea and blasting Age of Adz, which is the best way to end the day as far as I'm concerned.
