You clearly haven't seen Die Another Day.
I thought Skyfall was good but not great. I didn't like the way that they deliberately tried to link Craig's Bond with the previous ones, which is completely anachronistic. And going to Skyfall revealed that 'James Bond' is his actual name rather than his codename, which destroyed that theory. And whilst the climax was quite well done, I prefer the big international intrigue plots, rather than the smaller, personal ones.

connecting the male Q, Ms. Moneypenny, the old school car and everything, but it all fell flat, compared to the old ones.
