It has practical applications, like helping people make the transition from keyboard to touchscreen, or for people like me who can't stand the unsatisfying touch response of a flat screen versus the crisp, irrefragable sensation of pushing an actual key. I'm pretty sure the auto-embossing flatscreens are more money than the standard ones though, and that's where the bullshit becomes cyclical for me.
I'd rather pay less money to keep using a keyboard than pay more money to use a touchscreen that imitates one. Of course, given how quickly keyboards on phones/pads are being phased out, I may not have a fucking choice.
