I really have to wonder what comes after the touchscreen. I kinda want displays that can simulate textured surfaces, but that will be decades at least.
I don't think it will take that long. There are already touchscreens that can pop up bubbles in pre-defined locations. They just need to decrease the size of the bubbles and thus increase the 'resolution'. There are also screens that use electrical charge to give the sensation of texture as you brush across the screen.

I give it a decade, at most.
