You shouldn't worry about the developers, as if I'm understanding correctly 343 is basically made of Bungie alumni.

Very few people from Bungie are at 343, those few make up an even fewer percentage of what 343 is.
I loved Halo 4, probably not as much as 3, but it's still much better than Reach.
Campaign wise:
Halo 3>Halo ODST>Halo 4>Halo 1>Halo 2>Call of Duty 4>>>>>>Halo:Reach
Multiplayer:
Halo 3>Halo 2>Halo 4>Halo 1>That Minecraft Halo clone on Xbox Indies>Reach
As you can see, Reach is terrible.
